Natalie Cumming Hamilton is a writer, translator and teacher. With a communications background, she move to rural Oita Prefecture in Japan to teach English on the JET Programme in 2004. While living a simple country life, she fell in love with the people, language and culture, and realised she loved teaching.

Mostly studying independently outside mainstream education, Natalie wrote
The Kanji Code as a way to share what she learned in a simple and accessible format with other students of Japanese.
Natalie has a Bachelor of Communication (University of Technology, Sydney),
Master of Translating & Interpreting (Macquarie University), Certification in Professional Translation from Japanese to English (National Association of Australian Translators and Interpreters), and a Master of Teaching (University of New South Wales). She has taught translation technology at Western Sydney University and is currently employed as a teacher in Sydney, Australia.
